Terms of Service
Quipflip ("Quipflip", "we", "us") is a daily-question social app: we post a setup each day, and you respond with a quip. These terms cover using the site at quipflip.com. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them.
Accounts
You need an account to post quips, star things, follow people, or submit a setup idea. You're responsible for keeping your password (or passkey) secure and for what happens under your account. Give us a working email address. We use it for login, password resets, and account notices, plus one setup selection notice if a setup you submitted gets picked.
One account per person. Don't impersonate someone else or create an account for the purpose of abusing another user.
Your content
You own what you write: your quips, "Yes, and" builds, and any setup ideas you submit. By posting, you give Quipflip a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and store it as part of running the site (including on your public profile, in the archive, and in anything we share about the site, like a link preview card).
Quips, profiles, follows, and star counts are public by default, so anyone can read them without an account. Don't post anything you don't want to be public.
If you submit a setup idea and we run it, we credit it to your username wherever the setup appears. Submitting doesn't guarantee it gets picked, and there's no payment for submissions.
Acceptable use
Keep it to what a stranger reading the day's quips would find fine to see. Don't:
- Post anything illegal, harassing, hateful, or sexually explicit involving minors
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone
- Spam, scrape, or use the contact form or setup submissions to advertise something unrelated
- Try to break, overload, or reverse-engineer the site, or bypass rate limits and bot protections
- Use another person's account without permission
Moderation
We can remove a quip, build, or setup submission, or suspend or close an account, at our discretion, most often for something in "Acceptable use" above. Deleting your own quip hides it (it's kept, unpublished, for a short window in case it needs to be restored) rather than erasing it immediately; see the Privacy Policy for how that data is eventually removed.
No warranty, limited liability
Quipflip is provided as-is. We don't promise it'll be available, error-free, or that any particular setup or quip will still be there tomorrow. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for damages arising from your use of the site or its content, including anything another user posts.
Ending your access
You can stop using Quipflip at any time, and you can delete your account yourself from your settings page. That is permanent and immediate, with no grace period. We can suspend or terminate an account for violating these terms.
Changes
We may update these terms as the site changes. We'll update the date above when we do; continuing to use Quipflip after a change means you accept the new terms.
